Cindy R. Sams Bio

     Cindy Sams has created floorcloths and wall canvases in Traditional Early American to Contemporary designs for over 20 years. She studied Art and Textiles and Clothing at The Ohio State University.

     Cindy has been designing and creating floorcloths since 1989.  In February 2002 she had the opportunity to start her own business. Her work has been in Columbus’ BIA-Parade of Homes, (2002, 2004-2007, 2010) several juried shows and exhibits. She lead workshops at the 2005 Columbus Arts Festival, downtown Columbus, and the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, February 2006. As a member of the Ohio Designer Craftsmen, Cindy had a piece chosen to be in the “Best of 2008” Show (www.ohiocraft.org). She was entered into a contest and exhibit for Blue Moon Brewing Company, summer of '08. Art in Bloom has seen Cindy's work  in 2010 and 2011. She is a inagural exhibitor at the Granville Wine & Art Affair ('08-'11).

Cindy is represented on the Ohio Arts Council’s Ohio Online Visual Artists Registry (www.ohioonlinearts.org)  and a member of the Ohio Art League.

She was asked to be in a exhibition all about floor coverings “Completely Floored” at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, Lancaster Ohio, and the Cincinnati Enquirer( January 5, 2006) wrote, The exhibit includes everything from 19^th century rugs from turkey, Iran and Russia to contemporary floor cloth designs by Columbus Artist Cindy Sams, along with three works by Alexander Calder, …”

Cindy also has a line of pet mats sold at Posh Pets, Short North, Columbus. Cindy continues to create custom orders for those who want to add a splash of color and uniqueness to a room.
